Xbox Game Pass September 2024 Joining Titles

Update September 2 – Another set or rumors have materialized and now we have 2 more titles in the confirmed list of Xbox Game Pass free games for September 2024. Although there was no official announcement for these additions, it can already be seen on the Game Pass mobile app and console.

First off is Expeditions: A MudRunner Game, a thrilling off-road adventure where you lead scientific expeditions through rugged, uncharted lands driving different all-terrain vehicles. It is scheduled to enter service on September 5.




The second title is Riders Republic which will join the ranks on September 11. It is a highly-rated video game featuring different extreme sports like snowboarding, base jumping, and skiing.




Update August 21 – Looks like September 17 is a big day for Xbox Game Pass as not only will it mark Overwatch 2 and its game pass bonuses but it is also when the newly confirmed title, Train Sim World 5, will enter service. It was recently announced that the game will launch on PC, Playstation, and Xbox and will be available on Game Pass too on day-one.




Update August 17 – Microsoft and Blizzard have confirmed that Overwatch 2 will join Diablo 4 in the service on September 17. While the game is already free-to-play, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be getting “an instant one-time grant” of the following:

  • 30 Mythic prisms to spend on Mythic unlocks
  • Cardboard Reinhardt hero skin
  • Turtleship D.Va, Cyberdragon Hanzo hero skin
  • Street Runner Genji hero skin
  • Bee Mercy hero skin
  • Cleric Lifeweaver

There will also be shop cosmetics from the previous seasons and stackable XP boost which will be granted after these initial rewards. You will need to connect your Battle.net account to your Xbox account to gain access to these.

Original Publication – Although the official announcement for Xbox Game Pass September 2024 titles is not out yet, there are four games already confirmed for next month. And by the look of it, it is already shaping up to be better than this month’s.

But to be fair, wave 2 has yet to be revealed so tables could still turn and if you’re a fan of classics, well, DOOM + DOOM 2 Collection and Mafia Definitive Edition must have taken you over the moon.

Of the 4 games confirmed for September, two are Xbox first-party titles: Age of Mythology: Retold and Ara: History Untold. The latter is still for PC only, joined by Frostpunk 2 which also is.

First to enter the service next month is Star Trucker. It will be released on September 3, 2024 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S and is scheduled to launch day one on Game Pass for PC, Console, and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Star Trucker is a space-based trucking simulator where you play the role of a trucker who hauls cargo across the galaxy. The game features anopen world with various planets to explore and trade with. You’ll need to manage your ship, its cargo, and your resources effectively to succeed.




The second on the list is Age of Mythology: Retold, set to release on September 4, 2024. Like the first one, it is a day-one title on Game Pass. It is also one of the two Xbox first party titles launching next month.

A reimagining of the classic RTS, Age of Mythology: Retold puts you in command of ancient civilizations with mythological powers. The game focuses on real-time strategy where you will be gathering resources, building armies, and engaging in epic battles. The story mode goes deeper into the mythologies of Norse, Greek, and Egyptian cultures.




Next is Frostpunk 2 which was initially scheduled to release on July 25, then was postponed to September 20. So compared to Stalker 2, at least this one is still releasing this year. Upon its launch, it is also entering Game Pass for PC, making it another day-one title for September.

In Frostpunk 2, you will lead a city in a frozen world which just survived the freezing. The game emphasizes city management and survival. You’ll need to balance resource management, technology research, and the well-being of your citizens. The world is dynamic with changing weather conditions and challenges that test your leadership skills.




Last confirmed title for now is another Xbox first party title and PC only game, Ara: History Untold. And like previous entries, it is also a day-one addition to Game Pass.

Ara History Untold is a grand strategy game set in the ancient Middle East. You will build and expand empires, engage in diplomacy, warfare, and trade. The game focuses on historical accuracy, allowing you to experience the rise and fall of ancient civilizations.




Xbox Game Pass September 2024 lineup initially included Stalker 2: Heart Of Chornobyl which was scheduled to release on September 5. But a month before the said date, it was delayed. And being that it is a day-one title on Game Pass, that too was postponed until Stalker 2’s new release date of November 20, 2024.
