Xbox Game Pass could launch on Steam, after Valve President Gabe Newell says they are open to working with Microsoft.

Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass is currently one of gaming’s best deals, with hundreds of games available on Xbox and PC for one low monthly price.

The Xbox Game Pass has seen Microsoft turn the console war against Sony and PlayStation in their favor, and now Valve CEO Gabe Newell has said that they are open to bringing it to Steam.

Steam is the world’s leading video game digital distribution platform, and to get the Xbox Game Pass on it would see two of gaming’s best companies come together.

In an interview with PC Gamer, Newell says that a subscription service is something Steam does not need to introduce, but their customers believe it to be a “popular option.”

Interestingly, Newell states in the interview that Valve and Microsoft have spoken about bringing the Game Pass to Steam but that a deal has not been reached.

Encouragingly, Newell does also say that “If your customers want it, then you should figure out how to make it happen.”

So, a deal between Valve and Microsoft may not be that far off, and we may see the Xbox Game Pass on Steam sooner than we think.
