New Nintendo Switch 2 leaks confirm Nvidia’s Tegra T239 chip

Nintendo Switch 2 (NS2) is the highly anticipated next-gen console from Nintendo. A much-awaited yet much-discussed console offering an enhanced version of the original Switch. It delivers the hybrid experience but with some new features and improved graphics power.

An official launch set for June 5, 2025, NS2 has certainly been the center of many discussions. New Leaks Reveal Nintendo Switch 2’s SoC

Recently, some interesting images have circulated regarding Switch 2. Images shared online showing what seems to be the chip powering the new console. These images were shared by user @Kurnalsalts on Twitter (X).

A leak that confirms what has been rumored for a while. That is, a NSW2 powered by an SoC based on Nvidia’s Tegra T239. This has been discussed by many since 2023, but official details are still awaited. This has led to Nintendo actively removing the images from the internet.

 

Nintendo Switch 2 – SoC Specifications and Latest News

The leaked images reveal Nvidia’s Tegra T239 SoC. A custom chip based on a hybrid architecture combining Ada Lovelace (RTX 4000 series) and Ampere (RTX 3000 series). Based on previous leaks, it would offer:

  • CPU: 8 Cores including 1x ARM Cortex-X1 (High Performance), 3x Cortex-A78C (Performance), and 4x Cortex A55 (Efficient)
  • GPU: 12 Streaming Multiprocessors with 1536 CUDA Cores. Hybrid architecture with support for DLSS and Ray Tracing.
  • RAM: LPDDR5x 128-bit (likely 12GB)

In Conclusion

Nintendo is still quiet about the hardware specifications of NS2. The reveal will likely remain in Nvidia’s hands, at Nintendo’s discretion.
