Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong is all set to be launched on May 19, 2022, and Nacon has created a series of videos featuring each of the original vampires you will play as in the game.

In Swansong, you will play as three vampires Galeb, Leysha, and Emem. Each of them have their own abilities called Vampiric Disciplines. You will be able to switch from one character to another over the course of the game, and every decision you make through these characters will affect the course of the story.

In these Character Spotlight videos, we get to see how the developers came up with these characters, and the backstories of each one. We’ve compiled them for you right here.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong | Galeb Character Spotlight

Galeb is from the Ventrue clan and is the oldest vampire there is in Boston when the Elders left. He is the Prince’s right-hand man due to the fact that he’s highly respected and is the most powerful vampire. However, he faces a crossroad as he tries to come up with a decision to join the Elders, or stay by the Prince’s side.

As the most powerful vampire, he possesses a 4th Discipline while the other two only has three. He can withstand both mental attacks from other vampires, or physical attacks during missions. He’s usually sent out to fulfill key Camarilla missions where interactions with mortals is needed because he’s really used to interacting with them.

He is described as a warrior, as well as a really strong problem-solver. He has class, a tough and cold presence, and of course a whole lot of experience.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong | Emem Character Spotlight

Emem is from the Clan of the Rose, and is from the world of showbiz. She owns cabaret clubs and is a known personality in Boston. These clubs serve as neutral zones where clans tolerate each other. She wants to expand her cabaret network, and working with the Prince will help her achieve this goal. The Prince, on the other hand, wants to use Emem to reach Hilda from the Toreador clan.

Hilda is a Toreador vampire, whom Emem fell in love with. To keep their relationship forever, she requested “the embrace.”

As a playable character, Emem is considered a negotiator rather than an investigator. She has the power to influence anyone she’s talking to not only through the use of her Disciplines, but also through human skills such as persuasion, etiquette, and psychology.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong | Leysha Character Spotlight

Leysha is a Malkavian, and has a daughter named Halsey. She doesn’t want to please people nor attract attention — she simply works for the Prince and takes care of her daughter.

She is known in Boston as a vampire who can see the future, but she has a hard time recalling her past, so part of her wants to know who she is and who she is not.

She’s usually sent out to take on undercover missions and gather information, and her daughter Halsey tags along with her (she’s an NPC who’s just there to explore, play, and spend time with her mother). She uses Auspex (perception and awareness) to help her follow trails that only she can see.

Is Vampire The Masquerade swansong a sequel?
