Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is the much-awaited sequel being developed by The Chinese Room team for Paradox Interactive. The game’s development began around 2016 and was originally planned for release in 2019 by the Hardsuit Labs team. After two delays, in 2021 they announced they were no longer working on the game.

However, in 2023 it was announced that The Chinese Room team had taken over the project. Initially set for release in 2024, it was later delayed to 2025. The game is being developed using Unreal Engine 5 and will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. After the announcement of the latest delay in the summer of 2024, it seems that there is finally some movement for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. The latest news sees the game receiving a rating from the ESRB, a few months after the rating in South Korea. This seems to confirm 2025 as the decisive year for the game.

From the Rating, we also have confirmation of the platforms for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Additionally, some interesting notes from the Summary confirm plenty of violence and combat based on vampire powers, firearms, and hand-to-hand combat. Accompanied by foul language, the game has been given a Mature 17+ rating.

Certainly reassuring news for fans of the sequel to the great classic. The team has recently released Dev Diary 28, with a brief showcase of the game. It shows the game in action as we’ll face various Hunters from the I.A.O (The Information and Awareness Office). Hunters led by the pragmatic and methodical Agent Baker.

I.A.O represents a human enemy that uses technology to its advantage. They are capable of defending themselves both from afar and up close, with firearms, thermal batons, and thermal vision goggles. But the team also confirms that we will encounter the ancient vampire hunter known as Santiago. A fierce hunter who appeared in the early 20th century.
