Bloodlines 2 Vampire: The Masquerade delayed to 2025 update

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is delayed, this time until the first half of 2025. the news comes from a developer update during Gamescom 2024 by Paradox Interactive and The Chinese Room.

The much-troubled RPG was first announced in 2019 and initially set for a March 2020 release. It was then canceled before being picked up by The Chinese Room, developer of Still Wakes the Deep and Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, where the game has been stuck in developer hell since. The latest delay sees it pushed from a Fall 2024 release to early next year.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 2025 delay explained

The latest Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 delay is explained by The Chinese Room’s Alex Skidmore and Paradox’s Mattias Lilja in a statement with the developer update. In the statement, the companies explain that “though the game is in a good enough place that we could have maintained our planned release window, Paradox and The Chinese Room collaboratively decided to prioritize polish.”

It seems the devs want more time to test and incorporate additional features. The statement also outlines the team’s desire to “expand the game’s story.” Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will feature more than double the endings as the first game.

So far, we don’t have an exact release date. Hopefully we’ll get one by the end of the year.
