Valheim Server Turns Hardcore for Hardcore Gamers

This Valheim mod will turn your server to hardcore, and when your character dies, you’ll have to start all over again.

Modder icecub333 uploaded the Valheim Hardcore Server mod on Nexusmods last month, and this could just be what hardcore gamers might be looking for.

Called “Hardcore Server,” the mod turns a player’s server into hardcore where a character cannot be used anymore when it dies. This means the player would have to create a new one and start from scratch.

The good thing is this mod is server side only so clients won’t need to install it. The drawback is that this mod is not foolproof, so those who have extensive scripting knowledge may be able to bypass it.

Valheim Celebrates Its First Anniversary, Frost Caves Out Now

Valheim turned one in February 2022, and Iron Gate hosted a Fireside Chat in Youtube where CEO/lead designer Richard, lead artist Robin, and community manager Josefin talked about the game’s past, present, and future.

The game also received its Frost Caves update where players gain access to a brand new event and creature on top of the new location. It also added full controller support, the option to pause the game in single-player, and more optimization settings.

Iron Gate previously released a roadmap for Valheim which included the “Cult of the Wolf” update. They sadly had to cancel the entire roadmap, but according to them “these frost caves are essentially that update” and simply goes by a different name.
