The early access launch of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown didn’t quite turn out how it was supposed to. While the demo worked fine and got gamers excited for the game’s release, the launch unfortunately was riddled with server issues and login problems.
While developer KT Racing was quick to communicate and recognize the issue then deployed some fixes and temporary solutions, unfortunately, the issues still persist to most. So it’s very understandable that gamers are upset since the Gold Edition which gets you the early access is £80/$90.
An update on the 8th stated that players who successfully logged in are now 96% and that most services have “significantly improved.” Although it might be true during the time of publication, many still have voiced out that they still can’t log in or the post-race error message and onboarding issue is still there. If you haven’t tried the temporary fixes yet however, please be guided below:
An update patch will be released soon which most likely will be on September 12, the global launch date. This is a light at the end of the tunnel but a proper “sorry” to Gold Edition players is still warranted.
The devs know this and have communicated that there will be compensation to all affected players. Of course there is no “patch” to the early access period so KT Racing will instead give in-game compensation. As to what exactly, that has yet to be revealed. Hopefully a significant one so as to turn this launch fiasco around. One thing is for sure though, it will be released when these issues are fully resolved.
