Triple-I Initiative: Watch Huge Showcase with 30+ New Games Announced
With a surprise tweet on 28 March 2024, the Triple-i Initiative account has certainly caught attention. In fact, the account created in collaboration between the development team behind Dead Cells, namely Evil Empire, and other famous indie studios, has announced a new showcase event where well over 30 indie games will be unveiled.
30 indie games coming from some of the most relevant studios in the indie game industry, we’re talking about developers behind some of the most appreciated indies in recent years, capable of challenging the AAA industry. Certainly, there will be many news and announcements, so it will be useful to have your wallets ready!
What is the Triple-i Initiative and what will be the new indie games
The Triple-i Initiative is indeed an initiative born from the Evil Empire team, behind the famous Dead Cells, who felt that there wasn’t much space for indie games with the upcoming showcases and major gaming events, especially when compared to new chapters of significant IPs and new AAA titles. Precisely to overcome this, the team contacted other predominantly indie development teams and collaborated over the past few months to bring forth a showcase, the Triple-i Initiative.
A collaboration between over 30 indie studios where titles from some of the most appreciated indie teams of all time will be announced and highlighted, precisely justifying the term triple indie, meaning high-quality and meticulously crafted indies. Among the teams are:
- Stunlock Studio: Behind V Rising
- Red Hook Studio: Behind Darkest Dungeon
- Panthea Games: Behind My Time at Portia and My Time At Sandrock
- Mega Crit: Behind Slay the Spire
- Passtech Games: Behind Ravenswatch and Curse of the Dead God
But also many other small studios, as well as rather renowned publishers in the indie industry like TinyBuild, Focus Entertainment, and even Humble Games. Many fans expect new sequels as well as many new titles. We still know almost nothing about it, considering also the secrecy of the page that has only released the list of participants.
When will the Triple-i Initiative take place and where to watch it
The Triple-i Initiative will take place on 10th April 2024, at 10 AM PDT (19:00 CEST) and will consist of a whopping 45 minutes showcase featuring world exclusives, gameplay, demos, and even discounts on numerous indie games. Everything will be without any interruption or advertisement, available on official YouTube and Twitch channels, but also on the Steam page, Twitter, and BiliBili.
