Yesterday, on April 10th, a brand-new announcement was made: the game Tomo: Endless Blue was revealed. This game is an open-world RPG that combines elements from Palworld and Minecraft. You’ll find out everything about the game right here.

What is Tomo: Endless Blue?
Tomo: Endless Blue is a newly announced indie open-world RPG from Onibi Studio. Onibi Studio is an indie studio made up of many veterans from the gaming scene. This is their first game, and they’ve just shared the first details. Unfortunately, there’s no specific release date yet.
It’s an open-world RPG set in a survival world full of mysterious creatures called Tomo. More on them in a moment. You can freely explore the world and travel across various islands. These islands are procedurally generated and each one has its own story. When worlds end, fragments of civilizations become islands that float around in the Endless Blue. At the heart of these islands lies a secret of the Vagari civilization, which vanished many years ago.
So you set sail in the Endless Blue, encounter various monsters on the islands, and engage in battles. You can also team up with the Tomo to fight alongside them or just enjoy your day with them. Additionally, you can build vehicles and houses. There are also many unique characters you can meet.
Tomo: Endless Blue Gameplay: Between Creativity and Survival
As mentioned earlier, you can explore many procedurally generated islands that never get boring. On these islands, you can gather resources, craft items, and build your own base. The building system uses blocks, similar to Minecraft. So you can fully unleash your creativity or just build dirt houses like in Minecraft. The blocks have physics and can be used to create vehicles and machines. Whether it’s a boat, a crane, or an airship, everything is possible in Tomo: Endless Blue.

You’ll also find villages on the islands where NPCs live. You can talk and interact with them to learn more about their stories. They also give you quests, such as defeating the champion in the arena or finding a mystical Tomo.
The Mysterious “Tomo”: Monsters with Personality
The Tomo are monsters or creatures that inhabit the world. Some of them are peaceful, others are hostile, and you can tame them. Just like in Palworld or Pokémon, you can catch the Tomo and make them your companions. They’ll fight alongside you and help with everyday tasks – building, farming, crafting, or cooking. There are many different Tomo, and there are at least 146 of them.
Voxel Style Meets Anime Aesthetic
Let’s talk a bit about the game’s graphics. The game combines an anime look, similar to Palworld or Genshin Impact, with blocks like those from Minecraft. All the Tomo, characters, and objects like trees or stones have a soft anime style. But when you build something yourself, you do it with blocks just like in Minecraft. When you harvest materials, you get those same blocks back. You can even use blocks in combat, for example to parry enemy attacks.

This combination of styles fits the game perfectly. You have cute Tomo as companions and Minecraft-style blocks to unleash your creativity. It’s a combo that fits today’s gaming world perfectly – people love anime-style visuals and everybody loves Minecraft. What more could you want?
Co-op & Community – Sailing Together
You can play the game solo or with multiple friends. You can host the game over your local network or buy a server. There’s no player limit, so you can play with as many friends as your PC or server can handle.
The game will also be fully modding-compatible. That means the developers have left everything open – so you can totally break the game. You can replace all the Tomo with different creatures or develop whatever you can imagine. The world is your own personal playground, as the developers themselves say.

Conclusion: An Indie Hopeful with Big Potential
Tomo: Endless Blue promises an exciting mix of creativity, exploration, and survival. It cleverly blends familiar elements from Palworld and Minecraft. With its charming anime visuals, procedurally generated islands, and over 140 unique Tomo, the game invites you to explore and create.
Especially the combination of monster taming, vehicle crafting, and block-based building is likely to appeal to many players. Full modding support and co-op options also ensure long-term fun and creative freedom. Even though there’s no release date yet, the announcement already has us wanting more.
