This Legendary PS2 Horror Game Could Make a Return Soon

Interesting news has surfaced from the Korean Game Rating and Administration Committee. It seems that the horror classic Siren, known as Forbidden Siren, might be coming to PS5.

Siren – The news debunking the supposed Remake

The news was initially reported by Gematsu on 27th September 2024, via Twitter (X), mentioning that the Korean Game Rating and Administration Committee announced the rating registration for Siren. A classic horror game, released on PS2 back in 2003, also known as Forbidden Siren in Europe and Australia.

The game, created by Keiichirō Toyama, co-creator alongside Hideo Kojima for the development of Silent Hill, was initially thought by Gematsu to be a remake for PS5. However, they later corrected this, confirming a digital edition on the PlayStation Store with PS5 emulation to accompany the version already available for PS4 since 2016.

Forbidden Siren – The Survival Horror from the co-creator of Silent Hill

While it’s not a remake or remaster of this classic, it’s still good news for PlayStation 5 owners. As they can already enjoy the Silent Hill 2 remake, recently released on 8th October 2024, and experience this classic horror game as well.

Forbidden Siren shares a lot of aspects in common with Silent Hill, taking us to the remote rural village of Hanuda. Players will control various characters, and with the unique “Sightjack” allowing them to see through the eyes of others. This feature is particularly useful for avoiding obstacles and dangers while completing objectives with the respective characters over the course of three days.
