The Last of Us Part 2 Launch Finalized
The Last of Us Part 2, from Naughty Dog, finally gets a new release date after being delayed indefinitely.
The Last of Us Part 2 developers Naughty Dog, released a tweet stating that the game’s delayed release and pre-release leaks of recent have been as stressful for them as it has been for us.
“We know the last few days have been incredibly difficult for you. We feel the same. It’s disappointing to see the release and sharing of pre-release footage from development. Do your best to avoid spoilers and we ask that you don’t spoil it for others. The Last of Us Part II will be in your hands soon. No matter what you see and hear, the final experience will be worth it.”
The novel coronavirus that has caused so many game delays and Hermen Hulst, Head of Worldwide Studios, SIE, recently said as much in the recent PlayStation blog.
“As our teams at Sony Interactive Entertainment and Worldwide Studios approach development milestones and confront a world changed by COVID-19, we find ourselves having to adapt to today’s ever-changing environment. Amidst some disruptions to our working styles, we wanted to provide an update to PlayStation gamers who are eager to learn when our next exclusive titles will arrive to PlayStation 4.”
The good news is that we only have to avoid spoilers for The Last of Us Part 2 for a little longer as Hulst confirmed on the blog that the game will be released in June.
“As we begin to see an ease in the global distribution environment, I am pleased to confirm that The Last of Us Part II will arrive on June 19.”
The new release date is good news after the game’s initial release date of February 21 and the following release date of May 29 went by. So, grab the tissues and get ready for the tear-jerking experience with the rest of us on June 19, 2020.
