UBISOFT AND TAKE-TWO SUSPEND GAME SALES IN RUSSIA
On their official site, Ubisoft announced they were suspending sales in Russia in support of Ukraine.
In the blog post, Ubisoft says, “many team members call Ukraine home, and the thoughts of the entire Ubisoft community are with them, their loved ones and all those affected by this war.”
They revealed they have “set up alternative housing in neighboring countries where our colleagues and their families can take shelter if they wish and are able to do so.”
On top of suspending sales in Russia, Ubisoft is working to support those in need by donating €1 million to “the Ukrainian Red Cross, Save the Children and the solidarity fund set up by the Bank of Ukraine.”
Take-Two Interactive has blocked new sales and downloads in Russia and Belarus, including all 2K and Rockstar games such as Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto V.
Ubisoft and Take-Two follow other companies like EA, who removed all Russian and Belarusian teams from FIFA and NHL.
Activision Blizzard, Epic Games, and CD Projekt Red have all suspended digital and physical sales in Russia.
