New GTA VI Leak Suggests Roleplay Mode is in the Works

With the official announcement of GTA VI for 2025, at least confirmed for consoles, over this 2024, we will definitely see many news regarding the new chapter of Rockstar’s long-standing series.

Among the various news stories, the most recent one revolves around T-Pain, a famous American rapper and singer, who has surprised fans with an important news: a role in the new GTA VI, but with some conditions.

T-Pain Confirms a Role in GTA VI

Faheem Rashad Najm, known as T-Pain, has recently confirmed being hired by Rockstar for a role in the new Grand Theft Auto installment. A fantastic opportunity for the rapper and a dream come true, given the massive interest in the series. T-Pain was actively playing GTA V and had been an active user in Role Playing for some years, a very popular game mode of the title.

T-Pain was a member of the NoPixel server since at least 2021, a dedicated third-party server that involves following certain rules in RP servers, generally involving impersonating a fixed character and behaving accordingly, acting and speaking in character. All of this to offer a unique experience where each player acts in their role in a large improvisation show.

T-Pain’s Problem: No More RP

With the announcement of the collaboration, some NoPixel users immediately noticed the rapper’s absence on the server and asked for information. T-Pain officially confirmed that Rockstar has “banned” him from playing RP due to his new role in GTA VI, bringing a certain disappointment to the community and to T-Pain himself.

Especially because recently, as the rapper himself pointed out, Rockstar has hired some active modders in the RP scene, especially from FiveM (dedicated to GTA V) and RedM (dedicated to Red Dead Redemption II) servers. So a disappointment for the rapper, considering he missed the launch of the newly released 4.0 update on NoPixel.

GTA VI: Is Roleplay Finally Coming to the Series?

Despite T-Pain’s unfortunate case resulting in him being “banned” from RP until the launch of GTA VI, we can draw some conclusions. Even though we still don’t know the role the rapper will play in the game, whether as himself or an alter-ego, we can hypothesize that with the acquisition of modding teams dedicated to RP, Rockstar intends to focus on a more social experience.

From the teaser, a significant focus on the social aspect was evident. And it’s not impossible to see Rockstar capitalizing on the new title’s RP aspect, which made GTA V unexpectedly popular for over a decade. In short, we’ll have to wait and see the news and confirmations throughout 2024.
