What is Starbound?

Starbound is a sandbox survival game set in space with great reviews. The game was first released in the summer of 2016 and has been captivating fans ever since. Your home has been destroyed by an alien force, and now you’re on a journey in your spaceship. On this journey, you can do whatever you want. You can choose to find the source of the power that destroyed your home, or you can explore.

Since the planets are procedurally generated, in theory, there are infinite planets to explore. If you find a planet you like, you can set up your base there. The planets feature different topographies, dungeons, and much more to discover. In these dungeons, you’ll find numerous enemies and bosses that you can fight. Through them, you’ll find new weapons and gear that can be very useful.

At the beginning, you can choose between 7 different races and customize your character. You can also play Starbound with a few friends, making it even more enjoyable. The developers have also made the game highly moddable, so you can find thousands of exciting mods online that make the game even better.

Starbound on Xbox

After 8 years of availability on PC, Starbound is now coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. From August 28th to September 4th, you can play the game for free. You can do this through the Xbox Insider Program, where you can spend up to 4 hours in-game. The developers are looking for feedback, especially on the control and button configurations on the controller. Just so you know, on the Xbox One, co-op play is limited to two players, while on the Xbox Series you can play with up to four players.
