Square Enix E3 2019 Press Conference Highlights
Square Enix opened up their show with a teaser for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, which was definitely fitting given that majority of the attendees were probably there for this one game. With that, the crowd was definitely hyped up and ready for the show.
But, Final Fantasy 7 Remake wasn’t the only game Square Enix brought with them. And so, here’s a rundown of what the big publisher had to show at E3 2019:
FINAL FANTASY 7 REMAKE
We got two great bits from Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s time on the stage: an extensive gameplay demo and a release window. The Remake will feature a hybrid combat system where players can dish out normal attacks in real-time and enter special commands when their ATB gauges fill up. Players will also be able to switch between characters easily while in combat. You can check out the full gameplay demo plus the release date trailer below:
Final Fantasy 7 Remake is set to launch on March 3rd, 2020 on PlayStation 4. Square Enix said the game will “debut first” on the PS4, so other platforms might be a possibility.
FINAL FANTASY CRYSTAL CHRONICLES REMASTERED
Square Enix has finally given a release window for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered. The remaster will not only feature updated visuals and voice acting, but it will also include brand new content as well. The remaster will also allow up to four players to play together in multiplayer both locally or online. You can check out the game’s E3 trailer below:

OUTRIDERS
A new game from Polish developer People Can Fly was announced during the press conference. Here’s the announcement trailer:

FINAL FANTASY 8 REMASTERED
After years of snubbing Final Fantasy 8, Square Enix is finally getting the game remastered. I mean, it’s not the same remake treatment that Final Fantasy 7 is getting, but it gives fans hope that the publisher has not forgotten the very divisive title. Check out the updated visuals in the trailer below:
The remaster is coming to PC, Xbox One PlayStation 4 and Switch before the year ends.
MARVEL’S AVENGERS
After tons of rumours and teases, Crystal Dynamics has finally unveiled their Avengers game. This is an original story with the studio’s version of the heroes. They also assembled an all-star cast to voice Earth’s mightiest heroes. Crystal Dynamics also revealed they plan to support the game for years and that new characters and regions will come at no extra cost. Here’s the reveal trailer:
The game will come to PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Stadia on May 15th, 2020. PlayStation players will get beta access and exclusive content.
