MultiVersus is shutting down on May 30 when Season 5 ends. But it isn’t the end as it will be available offline.

In a heartfelt announcement, Warner Bros. Games and Player First Games have shared that MultiVersus, the beloved crossover fighting game, will conclude its journey at the end of Season 5 on May 30, 2025.

This last season is set to begin on February 4, 2025, and will introduce two iconic characters: Aquaman from DC Comics and Lola Bunny from the Looney Tunes universe. Players can earn these characters through gameplay, with Aquaman available as the first tier reward in the Battle Pass and Lola Bunny as a daily calendar login reward.


MultiVersus Ends With Season 5

As per announcement, all online features will remain active until May 30, 2025, at 9AM PDT / 6PM CET. After this date, the game will transition to an offline mode, allowing players to enjoy local matches against AI or with friends. To access this offline mode, it’s essential that gamers download the latest game version and log in during Season 5 to create a local save file.

While the shutdown won’t be for another four months, effective immediately, real-money transactions have been disabled, meaning players can no longer purchase Gleamium. However, any remaining Gleamium or character tokens can still be used to access in-game content until the conclusion of Season 5.



The development team expressed their deep gratitude to the community, stating, “All of us on the Player First Games and Warner Bros. Games teams have poured our heart and soul into this game. We will be forever grateful for the incredible support of the MultiVersus community throughout this journey.”
