Sci-Fi Fantasy RPG ELEX Coming This October!

The makers of games from the Risen series has another offering for gamers who are fans of sci-fi role-playing games. ELEX, which stands for Eclectic, Lavish, Exhilarating, Xenial, is the newest sci-fi fantasy RPG from THQ Nordic which is set in a vast open world. It is scheduled to be released on 17 October 2017 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

The game’s location is in a planet called Magalan which was hit by a meteor and eventually caused massive destruction to those living in it. Survivors are left with no choice but to fight for their own survival, and to get their hands on a precious and limited resource called ELEX. Apparently, this ELEX is able to power machines, give magical powers, and even “resculpt” life into new forms.

Because of this element, different factions are now fighting over the substance. The main character is a member of a faction called the Albs, and they use the substance to rid themselves of emotions so they’ll only make decisions based on “cold synthetic logic.” Equipped with a jetpack, the protagonist suffers in a crash which eventually led him to a withdrawal from the substance and made him experience emotions for the first time. He is then branded a traitor of the Albs and must hide his identity from the other factions he has had a fight with.

In terms of gameplay, the main character will be able to use both firearms and swords in battle. Magic will also be available for him later on as the game progresses.The game is set in a huge open world which he can explore freely – no loading zones, no borders! He can also use his jetpack to explore vertically. The game world is also simulated to react to the player’s actions. This is also supported by a highly interconnected quest system, which promises a more authentic player experience.
