SaGa Frontier 2 Remaster is coming, says SaGa series creator Akitoshi Kawazu. Although we may have to wait a little longer for an announcement.
Akitoshi Kawazu, the director of Square Enix’s SaGa JRPG series, has teased fans about an upcoming SaGa Frontier 2 remaster during a video message celebrating the 25th anniversary of the original game’s release in 1999.
During the video, Kawazu announced new content for SaGa Frontier Remastered on Android and iOS before saying it’s not a SaGA Frontier 2 remaster announcement and to “wait a little longer for that.” He added, “Honestly though, you won’t be disappointed if you wait so you can rest assured. Please be patient.”
News of an upcoming SaGa Frontier 2 remaster should not come as a surprise to fans of the legendary series as character designer Tomomi Kobayashi first mentioned one in a now edited blog post in October 2023. The original post included a comment that SaGa Frontier 2 Remaster could release in 2024.
One of the worst-kept secrets in the JRPG genre is coming true, and we could even see a 2024 release, if not a release, then it looks likely we’ll get an official reveal, so stay tuned to Allkeyshop for more as it comes.
SaGa Frontier 2 is a mnasterpiece of storytelling with a plot that revolves around the stories of Gustave XIII, an exiled would-be heir and William Knights, a man investigating the mysterious deaths of his parents.
Eventually, the two storylines merge to reveal a threat to the world. Like many in the genre, the game’s plot is told through exploration and dialogue, with the action taking place as turn-based battles.
