What seemed like a game buried in the development stage for over a decade, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has finally received a final release date.
Granted that the game is still technically in development stage, the fact that the game was picked up again and given a “deadline”, we expect the fourth installment of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series to materialize.
The initial target for the game’s release was 2021 but was delayed due to various circumstances. To be fair, it was expected that year considering the world’s current events at that time.
It was then slated for a Q1 release this year but the devs weren’t satisfied as there were some technical imperfections with the game. Having been in progress for so long, one can only imagine the pressure the devs are experiencing in releasing a worthy installment of the series.
Fast forward to now, we have a definite date!

Glad to hear solid news about Stalker 2, there’s still quite some time until September but I really hope the team will drop juicy news about this long awaited sequel. Truth to be told I have yet to play the “trilogy”, I’m planning to make it up this year although I do need to check the current state of the modding as the game seems to be either temperamental or haven’t aged spectacularly well without the use of certain mods.
