Rockstar Games has already confirmed it is working on GTA 6 and has now said it will no longer be releasing major content updates for Red Dead Online.
In a blog post on their official site, Rockstar Games stated they “plan to build upon existing modes and add new Telegram Missions this year, rather than delivering major themed content updates like in previous years.”
The decision comes after industry insider Tez2 revealed Rockstar has chosen not to release a GTA IV or Red Dead Redemption remaster due to the “poor reception” of the GTA Trilogy – Definitive Edition.
The move comes as Rockstar continues to move “more development resources towards the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series.”
Rockstar will need everyone they have on GTA 6, as they look to exceed “players’ expectations” and make GTA 6 the best it can be.
For those that play GTA Online, Rockstar plans to continue supporting the game and is even looking to release a new update across all platforms that will improve Criminal Careers and add community-requested improvements.
