Rise of the Ronin (ROTR) is the action RPG developed by Team Ninja for Koei Tecmo. The game takes us to the 19th century during the final years of the Edo period. It follows the story of the Blade Twins, seeking revenge against the Shogunate.

With a game created in collaboration with Playstation, it launched exclusively on PS5 on March 22, 2024. On January 27, 2025, the long-awaited PC port was announced for March.

Rise of the Ronin: Now available on PC

About a year after its PS5 release, Koei Tecmo has finally brought the much-awaited Rise of the Ronin. The game is now available on Steam as of:

• March 10, 2025, 6:00 PM PST / 9:00 PM EST
• March 11, 2025, 1:00 PM GMT / 2:00 PM CET

The team celebrates the ROTR launch with a Steam trailer, presenting the story and the historical period of the adventure. We will participate in the end of an era and a new beginning for 19th-century Japan.

Rise of the Ronin: The new Features on PC and Latest News

Along with the Steam launch trailer, Koei Tecmo has confirmed and reiterated the features available in the PC version. Mainly graphical and audio improvements, offering an enhanced version on PC compared to PS5. In particular:

• Resolution & FPS: On PC, players can enjoy up to 8K resolutions in ultra-wide and super ultra-wide formats, with frame rates up to 120fps.
• Ray Tracing & Upscaling: The PC version includes improved Ray Tracing and supports upscaling options such as FSR, DLSS, and XeSS.
• PC Controls: The ability to customize keyboard and mouse controls.

These features are certainly appreciated, but early feedback suggests there are some issues. Many fans are experiencing frame rate drops and low performance on otherwise capable systems. Team Ninja is investigating the situation and plans to release a patch soon.
