Resident Evil Village: Which Edition to Choose
Resident Evil Village launches on May 7, and ahead of its release, we detail what you get in each edition of the game to help you decide which to buy.
IS RESIDENT EVIL VILLAGE A SEQUEL?
Resident Evil Village is a direct sequel to Resident Evil 7 and is also in the first-person perspective.
In an interview with Famitsu, producers Tsuyoshi Kanda and Peter Fabiano explained that the game addresses the ending of Resident Evil 7 while finishing the story.

IS RESIDENT EVIL VILLAGE OPEN-WORLD?
Although the game features open-world elements, it is not entirely open-world. Instead, it is more Metroidvania-style, with the game focusing on exploration.
IS RESIDENT EVIL VILLAGE MULTIPLAYER?
Resident Evil Village is not multiplayer. However, it does come with a new, multiplayer-only title, Resident Evil Re:Verse.
Resident Evil Re:Verse is a fight to the death for four to six players. You can play as favorite characters of the Resident Evil franchise, and matches last five minutes.
Death is not the end in Resident Evil Re:Verse. When you die, you can turn into a powerful bioweapon and take your revenge on other players.
RESIDENT EVIL VILLAGE DEMO
For those who can’t wait to play the game, the Resident Evil Village demo is available to play on Steam from May 1, 17:00 PDT, and will be playable for eight days.
