Reforj: New Game from Minecraft Creators with Trailer Revealed

Reforj is an upcoming open-world sandbox game from 4J Studios, the developer responsible for porting Minecraft to consoles. The new voxel crafting game has been revealed with a trailer for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.


Reforj is a new voxel-based open-world crafting game from 4J Studios, the co-developer of Minecraft who helped port it to consoles and also worked on Banjo Kazooie and Perfect Dark. Announced in September, Reforj has no exact release date but will launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

4J Studios hopes to get Minecraft players on board with their new title, releasing a pre-alpha gameplay trailer to excite people. 4J Studios founder Chris van der Kuyl recently told GI.Biz that “it will be a very different gameplay experience” to Minecraft. However, like Minecraft, players can expect unlimited creative freedom and endless replayability when Reforj releases on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Minecraft is the best-selling video game of all time, selling over 300 million copies as of 2023. The team responsible for delivering Minecraft’s console edition, 4J Studios, hopes to take their knowledge of the genre and success to deliver another massively popular open-world sandbox. Reofrj is a new game with procedurally-generated voxel worlds, exploration, building, crafting, and survival elements.

In Reforj, players will discover unique worlds and uncover the secrets of a lost civilization. With various tools, players can transform blocks, manipulate the environment, build structures, and even leap from mountain tops to glide using a wingsuit. Reforj is playable alone and with friends and will appeal to anyone who has played Minecraft and other sandbox games.
