Project Aces Hints at New Ace Combat Game in 2025 for 30th Anniversary

With the start of the new year, it looks like the Project Aces team has something in mind to celebrate the Ace Combat series in 2025, for its 30th Anniversary.

Ace Combat (AC) is a series of arcade combat flight games. A series that hasalways been developed by Bandai Namco’s internal team, Project Aces. Debutted for the first time on Playstation 1 in 1995, and fiding a good reception. Offering an action-packed game with intuitive controls set in an alternate universe.

With the latest installment, Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, released in 2019, bringing great success and drawing many new  players to the series. The series has reached nearly 20 million copies sold worldwide. Now, many are eagerly awaiting a new chapter or even a remake in time for the 30th Anniversary.

Ace Combat 30th Anniversary: 2025 a significant year for the series

The beginning of 2025 also marks an important date for the Ace Combat series. This year coincides with the 30th Anniversary of the Project Aces team’s series. In fact, Bandai Namco’s internal team shared the news on Twitter to celebrate the new year.

Announcing that 2025 will indeed be a major year for the series. The team will be working hard to make 2025 an unforgettable year for the fans. This news has made the fans excited, with many hoping for a new chapter in 2025.

What we know about the next Ace Combat

We have some information about the next Ace Combat. In fact, in 2021, Kazutoki Kono, the series director, announced that the team was already working on a new game. We also know that the ILCA (I Love Computer Arts) team will collaborate with Project Aces. The team previously assisted Project Aces in Skies Unknown and will have a bigger role.

Additionally, we have confirmation that the next title will use Unreal Engine 5. This continues the move away from the proprietary engine, which was already dropped with AC7. However, we don’t know if the team is also planning a surprise with a remake or remaster of the very first Ace Combat. This would celebrate the 30th Anniversary and mark the series’ grand return.
