Playstation Plus Members Gets 5 Days For Free After Global Outage
Sony announced that Playstation Plus members will be an extra 5 days of their subscription following an almost 24-hour global outage
Playstation Plus members didn’t quite get the weekend they were hoping for. A global outage lasting almost 24 hours has confused, enraged, and disappointed subscribers. The outage is resolved and the compensation has been communicated, but the issue isn’t over. Members want an explanation and the community is divided as to whether the compensation is just.

In response to the temporary loss of access, Sony announced that all existing Playstation Plus members will receive a 5 days extension for free. Most people who pay monthly were satisfied, while those on annual subscription, well not so much as 5 days seem insignificant. To be fair though, 5 days compared to 1 day of outage doesn’t seem so bad. But members should point out the bigger issue, which some have, which is what caused the outage.

While most regarded it as a “normal and inevitable” incident, some weren’t too quick to dismiss the fact that Sony has not offered an explanation as to what happened. And a mere “Operational Issue” wasn’t going to suffice this growing inquiry.
This sentiment stems out from the 2011 breach which lasted for over 3 weeks and has compromised millions of accounts. Granted that the recent outage is not nearly as bad as that (so far), but also rightly so as security measures are expected to be better after more than a decade.
The Playstation community is still waiting for the official statement from Sony about the matter.
