We Happy Few is an action-adventure video game set in a dystopian, retrofuturistic 1960s England called Wellington Wells, where the populace is addicted to a hallucinogenic drug called Joy.
The game is played from a first-person perspective and includes elements of stealth, survival, and combat. Players must scavenge for food, water, and medicine, and avoid or fight the drug-addled inhabitants of Wellington Wells. They can also craft weapons and items to help them survive.
This thought-provoking and disturbing game is made even better with the soundtrack composed by Joel Corelitz, who also composed the soundtrack for BioShock Infinite.
We Happy Few was released on July 26, 2016 for PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.
We Happy Few is joining Game Pass on January 11, 2024. It will be available to play at no additional cost for subscribers of Game Pass PC, Game Pass Console, and Xbox Cloud gaming.
There are no other gaming subscription services that currently have or plans to include the game in their free games lineup.
