Path of Exile 2 (PoE 2) is the long-awaited sequel and new chapter of Path of Exile by Grinding Gear Games. The action RPG takes us into the world of Wraeclast, offering a pure RPG for one of the most beloved dark fantasy adventures. The first chapter was released in 2013 as Free to Play.

And PoE 2 further improves the formula, with the team’s decision to support both chapters simultaneously. The new Path of Exile 2 enters Early Access on 6 December2024, and will receive updates and improvements, including some cosmetic items already compatible with the previous title purchases.

 

Path of Exile 2 – Surpasses One Million Keys Redeemed at Launch

With the official launch of Early Access on 6 December 2024, Path of Exile 2 has seen an incredible influx of players. Despite Early Access being offered only through the Supporter Pack or for those who spent at least $480 on the first Path of Exile.

A nearly unexpected success and interest from the development team, almost worried that the game servers might not withstand the initial influx. Jonathan Rogers, one of the founders of Grinding Gear Games, assures fans they are already working on expanding the game servers to accommodate new players.



Path of Exile 2: What Early Access Offers

As Early Access, Path of Exile 2 offers only a portion of what the full game version has in store. PoE 2 features approximately 50 hours of gameplay, offering:

3 Acts

Out of a total of 6. Still providing unlockable Endgame content only after playing the 3 Acts twice (Normal and Cruel)

Level Cap

Playing the campaign for the first time allows reaching level 45. In Cruel mode, players can reach level 65. Afterward, the endgame will be unlocked, allowing players to reach level 100.

Endgame

The endgame provides access to the Atlas. A randomly generated map that continues infinitely, offering drop opportunities and more enemies through Waystones added to the map. There’s also an Atlas Skill Tree system featuring 7 systems to accommodate all types of challenges players seek.

Path of Exile 2: Classes and Ascendancies

With Early Access, Path of Exile 2 offers 6 classes with 2 Ascendancies per class. As shared by GGG in the official post, we will have:

  • Sorceress: Offering Stormweaver with powerful elemental attacks and Chronomancer capable of manipulating time
  • Warrior: Offering Titan with powerful Heavy Attacks and Warbringer as a more classic Tank
  • Ranger: Offering Deadeye as a balanced archer and Pathfinder capable of using Poison
  • Witch: Offering Blood Mage capable of using Blood and Infernalist capable of using Flames among summons and Buffs
  • Mercenary: Offering Witchhunter with powerful anti-magic skills and Gemling Legionnaire using the power of Gems for various buffs
  • Monk: Offering Invoker for a Spiritual style and Acolyte of Chayula for a Chaotic one
