Atomfall: Story and Setting
Atomfall is set in an alternate version of the 1960s in Britain, more specifically five years after the real-life Windscale fire of 1957. The Windscale fire was the worst nuclear accident in British history. In this alternate timeline, the accident resulted from secret experiments by the UK Ministry of Defence, creating a dystopian quarantine zone in the Lake District, Northern England.
You play as a nameless protagonist with amnesia who wakes up in an underground bunker. Naturally, you want to get out and explore the world, where a devastated region awaits. Your goal is to uncover the truths behind the events. Along your journey, you’ll encounter various factions and threats including masked outlaws, fanatic cults, and mutated creatures.
