Right now, the Nintendo Mysterious Playtest is taking place. Despite the non-disclosure agreement, some users have already shared information about it.
Nintendo Switch Online Playtest Program – A New MMO According to Leakers
As we mentioned a few weeks ago, Nintendo is currently hosting the Nintendo Switch Online Playtest Program. A Playtest in which 10,000 users were selected to test a new feature of the Nintendo Switch. The playtest started on 24 October and will end on 6th November 2024.
Although the program was protected by a Non-Disclosure Agreement, some users have already shared information. The first was user Ethan_ThisGuy on Twitter (X), who shared images showing an MMO experience focused on creating a Planet, collaborating with other players.
Nintendo’s New MMO: Here’s Everything We Know
With the leaks, many users have shared plenty of details about the Nintendo Switch Online Playtest Program. This new Nintendo MMO is a cooperative experience with other players. Here’s what we know:
- Main Objective: In the game, we must develop a Planet using player resources and creations.
- Beacons: Essential tools for purifying darkened areas and placing creations. Beacons are personal and can only the player who placed it can modify it.
- Dev Core: A sort of hub where players can gather, level up, acquire items, and communicate with others.
- Dev Point and Connex Point: Dev Points unlock as the Planet develops, providing access to new items. While interacting with others will award Connex Points, granting access to community items.
With User-Generated Content, the new Nintendo MMO will allow players to unleash their creativity while maintaining a respectful behavior. It seems Nintendo is aiming for a family-friendly MMO with a creative side, reminiscent of Roblox and Minecraft. With something akin to a spiritual successor to Miiverse, but on Switch.
