The next Star Wars game is now in development at the helm of Amy Hennig’s Skydance New Media in partnership with Lucasgames. There are currently no specifics about the game aside from it being a “richly cinematic action-adventure game featuring an original story in the legendary Star Wars galaxy.”

Amy Hennig previously joined the now defunct Visceral Games to work on “Project Ragtag” which takes place after the original Star Wars movie. It was unfortunately canceled after Visceral Games shut down in 2017 and development was transferred to EA Vancouver.

With this new Star Wars project under Skydance, Hennig expressed her excitement, saying, “I’ve often described how seeing Star Wars in 1977 essentially rewired my 12-year-old brain, shaping my creative life and future indelibly… I’m elated to be working with Lucasfilm Games again to tell interactive stories in this galaxy that I love.”

Over at Lucasfilm Games, Vice President Douglas Reilly shared they are also looking forward to sharing more about the game with Star Wars fans “when the time is right.” He also added that their partnership with Skydance is “very exciting” because of its “vision for making inviting, cinematic interactive entertainment.”

Star Wars fans have a lot to look forward to in terms of video games. There are several Star Wars games in development which includes three games from EA (one of which is the next game in the Star Wars Jedi franchise), another one from Ubisoft, Star Wars Eclipse from Quantic Dream, and a remake of 2003’s Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

Meanwhile, the recently-launched LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is enjoying critical acclaim and is topping sales charts. We’ve got the best deals right here for you if you haven’t purchased your CD key yet:
