New World Preview: Glacial Tarn Expedition from Eternal Frost
New World, the MMORPG developed and published by Amazon Games has already 2 years on his shoulders. And while the initial success swiftly swindled, the game still has a solid core community and receives plenty of new content.
As part of the PTR, the Public Test Realm, players are able to test and have an early look of the upcoming content, by also helping the team tweak and fix it before the global release. As such the latest update, dubbed as Eternal Frost has just been released as part of the Wave 2 session.
Eternal Frost
Currently available with the current PTR, Eternal Frost is expected to release on 12 December. It will feature a new season story, where we discover a new threat from a Knight of the Round Table who has uncovered a forbidden knowledge and threatens Aeternum.
Of course the update comes in a Season Pass with all the expected content. But most importantly a new Expedition and new Artifacts. Along with a plethora of expected winter themed seasonal events in the Winter Convergence Festival, and later with Legacy of Crassus.
New Expedition: The Glacial Tarn
The highlight of the upcoming update, Glacial Tarn is a new Expedition at level 65, where players will explore the icy caverns of the Great Cleave, in search of Varangian Knight Ser Loth, before his newfound powers could grow to make him a danger to all Aeternum
The new area will allow players to use the Empyrean Flame buff allowing to remove enemies impenetrable Ice Armors, but the buff must be kept active by reactivating it with the Furnace to be able to stand against the ice magic powered enemies.
How to access PTR client
Accessing the preview build is easy. You have to download the “New World Public Test Realm” if you already own the game on Steam. As part of the test you’ll receive a special set of armors and weapons in cache format, each based on various types of build of CON, DEX, INT, FOC, and STR.
As a cached format when opened they’ll be added to your inventory but beware that opening all at once could make you overencumbered. Finally, keep in mind that once the Test period ends you won’t be able to access the test servers.
