Just over a week since its launch, Metaphor: ReFantazio has already captured the hearts of numerous players. It has quickly become Atlus’ fastest-selling title.

Metaphor: ReFantazio – Atlus Celebrates Success with Over 1 Million Copies Sold

Released on 11 October 2024, Metaphor: ReFantazio was immediately appreciated by many. And offering a long demo covering the prologue certainly helped attract interest. A game offreing a more unique artistic choice compared to Persona 5, showcasing a fantasy story and setting.

Metaphor: ReFantazio has indeed become Atlus’ fastest-selling game, selling well over 1 million copies in just 24 hours after launch, surpassing the record set earlier in February 2024 by Persona 3 Reload. The milestone  is celebrated with a special illustration by game designer Shigenori Soejima, depicting the charming fairy Gallica.

Metaphor: ReFantazio – Patch 1.03 Finally Brings a Requested Feature

Despite the great success of Metaphor: ReFantazio, the game does have some small performance issues. Patch 1.03 brings some fixes and additions. It addresses bugs that could block game progression and introduces the long-awaited Antialiasing options on PC, with FXAA and SMAA. One of the biggest criticisms at launch, considering that the option was automatically tied to Render Scale.

Metaphor: ReFantazio has become a great success for Atlus. Regarding the future of the game, it seems Atlus is leaning toward expansion DLCs rather than an expanded Re-release.
