Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is the highly anticipated new chapter in the Like a Dragon (formerly Yakuza) series by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio (RGG). Offering us a new spin-off chapter starring the eccentric and beloved Goro Majima.
Involved in an unlikely and extravagant adventure as a pirate. A modern pirate adventure with all the charisma and over-the-top action of the Yakuza series. Set in a pirate world with sea battles. The game will launch on February 21, 2025, for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

With the launch just days away, the RGG team finally announces the system requirements for Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii today, February 10, 2025. The system requirements are fairly modest compared to recent releases, with:
Minimum Requirements (1080p 30fps Low preset with FSR1.0 Balanced)
- Processor: Intel i5-3470 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 (AVX and SSE4.2 instructions required)
- Graphics: Nvidia GTX 1650, AMD Radeon RX 560 4GB or Intel Arc A380
- Memory and Storage: 8GB of RAM and 56GB of free space.
Recommended Requirements (1080p 60fps Native, High preset)
- Processor: Intel Core i7-4790 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 6GB, AMD Radeon RX 5700 or Intel Arc A750
- Memory and Storage: 16GB of RAM and 56GB of free space on SSD.
The requirements are quite accessible, and it seems like the game will also use FSR Upscaling on PS4 and Xbox One for 30fps targeting. We also have confirmation that Yakuza Pirate will be Steam Verified at launch!

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii – The Story Trailer
Also, the RGG and Sega teams released the Story trailer on February 6, two weeks before the launch. An epic and colorful trailer in which we discover what awaits us in this pirate adventure. We meet the pirate king Raymond Law, played by renowned wrestler Samoa Joe.
He introduces us to Madlantis, the 21st-century pirate hideout that awaits Captain Goro Majima. The trailer shows us snippets of the story and locations mixed with gameplay. From naval battles to beat ’em up sword fights, and playing dirty like a true pirate.
