Level Zero: Extraction, the tactical extraction survival horror shooter, has its support ended by developer Doghowl Games two weeks after its full release. The PvPvE multiplayer launched into Early Access in August 2024, and its full release was on January 29, 2025.

In a post on Steam, the community manager Antishyr revealed the game is now in its “final form for the time being.” The last patch included a small number of balance changes and bug fixes and was released on January 30, 2025.

What Went Wrong with Level Zero: Extraction?
Initially released in Early Access in August 2024, Level Zero: Extraction had already gone from an asymmetrical horror when it was announced in 2022 to a survival horror extraction shooter, which director Alex Golenishchev called “a unique experience.”
After launching into 1.0 on January 29, 2025, the game “underperformed” compared to expectations and is no longer “feasible” for the developer to sustain. This is despite the game reaching the Top 100 Steam’s most wishlisted games and the second most-played demo in Steam Next Fest.
What’s Next for the Dev Team?
Level Zero: Extraction will continue to be playable, with wipes taking place on the first Thursday every month. However, there will be no future weekend events or major updates for the foreseeable future. The game will also not make it to consoles.
Doghowl Games is moving on from Level Zero to a new co-op multiplayer title, with the developer hoping to take the invaluable experience gained and put into future projects.
