A few weeks after the announcement of Japanese Drift Master’s release, the Gaming Factory team has delivered some unfortunate news: the eagerly awaited racing sim has been postponed by approximately two months!

Japanese Drift Master (JDM) is a racing game currently being developed by the Gaming Factory. A Polish studio known for various smaller titles. With JDM, they aim to deliver an ambitious game that merges the arcade-style thrills of Japanese racing simulators with a vast open-world environment.
The game also features a manga-inspired storyline and boasts 250 km of roads to explore. First announced in April 2023, JDM grabbed attention, particularly with the release of a Demo Trial at the end of January 2025. The game also includes licensed cars.
Japanese Drift Master: Release Delay and Updated Date
Just days before the original release date, the Gaming Factory team has provided an important update: the game’s launch is being postponed from March 26, 2025, to May 27, 2025, pushing back the release by approximately two months.
The announcement comes alongside a trailer and an explanation for the delay, emphasizing that the extra time will ensure a more refined experience at launch.

Japanese Drift Master: Reasons for the Delay and Community Response
As previously mentioned, the reason for the delay is straightforward. The team wants to use the additional two months to fine-tune the game to ensure the best possible launch experience for JDM. This game has incredible potential, offering arcade-style drifting gameplay in an expansive open world, all powered by Unreal Engine 5.
While UE5 brings state-of-the-art graphics, it also presents challenges in optimization. As seen in recent years, especially during 2024 and into 2025, the studio wants to ensure the game runs smoothly. Fortunately, most fans have embraced the delay, seeing it as a step in the right direction. The team also promises more updates during the wait, and hints at a possible console release for JDM.
