Pokémon Presents is now an unmissable event for Pokémon fans. It’s an official event by The Pokémon Company, created in 2021 as a separate event from the Nintendo Direct. It often coincides with the famous Pokémon Day.
This is the official release day of the first two games of the series, Red and Green in Japan on 27 February (1996). With the 2025 edition being announced just a few days ago, with many fans eagerly waiting for this year’s novelties.
Pokémon Presents 2025: What Are the Announcements of the New Events
With Pokémon Presents 2025 taking place on 27 February 2025 at 6:00 AM PT / 15:00 CET, we definitely got some big news. With an almost 20-minute showcase, featuring Tsunekazu Ishihara, President and CEO of The Pokémon Company. Reminding us of the 29th Anniversary of the series. And announcing:
- Pokémon Concierge: the new episodes of the Netflix series coming in September. With the first 4 episodes arriving on 4 March 2025
- Pokémon GO: With the arrival of the Unova Tour on 1 and 2 March, with a chance to face Kyurem Black and Kyurem White in the Raids. Also, Victini and Shiny Meloetta will make an appearance
- Pokémon Masters EX: The event where May and Brendon will appear with Shiny Primal Kyogre (28 February) and Primal Groudon (2 March)
- Pokémon Café ReMix: The F2P title will have a new event from 28 February. Unlocking Flapple or Appletun, and Dessert Costumes for Pikachu and Eevee.
Pokémon Sleep: A special event dedicated to Cresselia and Darkrai, with the date to be confirmed - Pokémon Unite: The MOBA of Pokémon also gets an update with the arrival of Suicune, Alola Raichu, and Alcremie. Suicune arrives on 1 March.
Pokémon Presents 2025: TCG, GCC, and the New Champions
On the competitive and collectible side, there are also quite a few novelties. In fact, the Pokémon TCG gets a new expansion, Triumphant Light, dedicated to the legendary Arceus, available from 28 February 2025. Meanwhile, the physical counterpart, the TCG, will feature Mega Evolutions with Mega Lucario and Mega Gardevoir in EX versions arriving in 2025.
But certainly the most interesting competitive announcement is the new Pokémon Champions. With a brief teaser showing us the competitive nature of this new game. Between the return of Mega Evolutions and the Terastal mechanic from Scarlet and Violet. The game is currently in development and confirmed for Nintendo Switch, as well as Android and iOS devices.
Pokémon Presents 2025: The Pokémon Legends: Z-A Trailer
The most anticipated announcement of all is the one dedicated to Pokémon Legends: Z-A confirmed for 2025. The second and new chapter in the Legends spin-off series. We’ll return to Lumiose City in the Kalos region. With a trailer showing us a fully explorable city with many new characters to meet.
But there are also familiar faces, like the unexpected return of AZ. Finally reunited with his beloved Floette, and now managing the Z Hotel. Tepig, Chikorita, and Totodile will be our starters. Plus, we’ll also see the return of Mega Evolutions. The trailer ends with Zygarde 10%, where the legendary will play a central role in the story.
