Here’s What Ubisoft had to Show for E3 2018

Ubisoft had a superb presentation at this year’s E3. Just in case you missed it, we’ve put everything you need to know from the publisher’s showcase right on this page. We know you’re extremely excited so let’s get right to it!

JUST DANCE 2019

Ubisoft opened the show with a dance number from a live marching band and a crew of dancers wearing outfits from their popular dance sim, Just Dance. The number started outside of the theater then ended on stage with the screens showing that Just Dance 2019 will be coming this October.

BEYOND GOOD AND EVIL 2

Ubisoft showed off a new trailer and some pre-alpha gameplay footage for their upcoming space opera action RPG, Beyond Good and Evil 2. Here’s the trailer that was shown during the event:

The devs have also partnered with HitRecord to allow fans to contribute and collaborate in creating content for the game. Those interested in participating can go to hitrecord.org and look for the Beyond Good and Evil 2 page.

RAINBOW SIX SIEGE

Ubisoft has revealed that their competitive tactical shooter, Rainbow Six Siege, now has 35 million registered players. The game’s Pro League will be kicking off on June 18th at 5PM Pacific (June 19th 1AM BST) and will stretch through the next 6 months with the finals set to happen in Brazil. The Six Majors will be happening in Paris this August. Finally, game’s pinnacle tourney, the Six Invitational, will be taking place in Montreal in February 2019. Ubisoft also teased, Another Mindset, a documentary focused on a special set of players. The documentary released during the Six Majors. Here’s the teaser:

TRIALS RISING

Ubisoft and RedLynx announced Trials Rising, the next installment of their physics-based, puzzle racing game featuring dirtbikes. The new game will feature tracks set in iconic locations and is set to release on February 2019 for PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Switch. A closed beta will be happening later this year and those who want to participate can sign up right now. Here’s the trailer shown during the presentation:

THE DIVISION 2

Creative director Julian Gerighty set the mood for the upcoming RPS The Division 2, revealing the game’s new Washington D.C. setting 7 months after the events of the first game. He also revealed that the game will have a compelling story mode. Once players reach the ed of the main campaign, players will be given the chance to choose a specialization. This includes choosing a signature weapon and unlocking new tools and abilities, including exclusive versions of skills. The game will also feature 8-player raids. Here’s the game’s trailer:

Gerighty also laid out the post-launch year 1 DLC plans for the game. 3 DLCs will be coming in the form of episodes, each one with new story content, locations and activities. These will be completely free for everyone.

The post-show showed off gameplay footage from the playable demo set up at E3 as well. The game launches on March 15th next year. A closed beta will be coming later which you can sign up for right now.

DONKEY KONG ADVENTURE

Ubisoft had Composer Grant Kirkhope and Critical Hit play the soundtrack for their upcoming DLC for Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle live on stage while the trailer was playing. Donkey Kong Adventure brings Nintendo’s beloved ape into the fray on June 25th.

SKULL & BONES

A new trailer for Ubisoft’s upcoming piracy game, Skull & Bones, was shown at E3. Not only that, some gameplay footage was also shown. We saw customization options for ships, sample strategy for taking treasures from merchant ships, resulting engagements from responding imperial vessels, the specialties of the different types of ships, and treachery borne from greed. The game releases next year. Signing up at the game’s official site might score you a chance to play early. Here’s the gameplay footage shown during the show:

TRANSFERENCE

Elijah Wood came up on stage on behalf of SpectreVision to present Transference, an upcoming VR experience that plays like an interactive movie. Players will be looking for clues and solving puzzles while switching between the perspectives of the game’s different characters to piece everything together. The game come’s out this fall. STARLINK BATTLE FOR ATLAS

Ubisoft’s unique space shooter that involves physical collectible modules, Starlink Battle for Atlas, also got some stage time during the publisher’s presentation. The biggest moment for Starlink was when Star Fox was revealed for the Switch version of the game. Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto made an appearance and was gifted with a prototype of Fox’s ship in the game. This is the second year Miyamoto has attended Ubisoft’s E3 presentation. FOR HONOR

Ubisoft is offering the Starter Edition of For Honor for free through Uplay this week. Get it on Ubisoft’s platform and you get to keep it forever. A new trailer for the game’s upcoming Marching Fire update also debuted. The update will add 4 new fighters from China, enhanced visuals, and new singleplayer content. Also, the new Breach mode is coming with the update, fulfilling fan requests for a castle siege type of mode. The update goes live on October 16th. Here’s the trailer for Breach:

ASSASSIN’S CREED ODYSSEY

The new Assassin’s Creed will be set in ancient Greece, amidst a war between the Athenians and Spartans. Apparently, choices will now be a thing in the series, with the first one presented right at the start of the game. Players now get to choose if they want to play a male or female character. Both share the same story and play the same way. A full gameplay sequence was also shown. Here’s a walkthrough version:

The game launches on October 5th.
