With the new Escalation of Freedom, the long-awaited major update for Helldivers 2, players of the popular title from Arrowhead Game Studios can finally get their hands on many new features. Among these, the new difficulty level: Super Helldive, certainly stands out.
With the new awaited update, the difficulty of Helldivers 2 continues to rise with the new VC 10 Super Helldive difficulty, which will be positioned as the highest difficulty level. This is certainly a choice by the team to address the ever-growing number of players capable of completing missions at the 9 Helldive difficulty. As expected, there will be better loot with 9, 12, and 15 medals for the first, second, and third best performances, respectively. There will also be drops from Samples, ranging from Common to Super, and additional Samples from certain enemy items.
But that’s not all, because with the Super Helldive difficulty, we’ll see larger outposts like the Super Heavy Outposts, and the enemy ranks will be bolstered. They will receive even more armored units with larger variants. But that’s not all, because we will also have new enemies, in particular:
Not to mention a whole new location in the eerie swamps. A dangerous new location with limited visibility, thus light sources will play a big role to avoid getting ambushed in the dark.
Alongside the new update comes a new fire-themed Premium Warbond that adds 2 primary weapons, one secondary weapon, two armor sets, a passive ability, a title, and a skin for your shuttle—all fire-themed! Certainly a pass not to be missed by many fans, though it is not without criticism due to a massive nerf of many weapons for balance reasons. The nerf particularly hit fire-themed weapons like the flamethrower and the fire shotgun. However, the Arrowhead team has confirmed that they are closely monitoring the situation and are looking for a solution to diversify weapon usage.
