The long-awaited return of the Fatal Fury franchise is finally within reach! Fatal Fury City of the Wolves marks the first new entry in the legendary fighting series in over two decades.
While the official release date is set for April 24, gamers don’t have to wait that long to jump into the action. SNK is giving players a chance to experience the game early and for free with an open beta starting now.
One important note though, progress made during the open beta will not carry over to the full game when it launches in April. So while you can get a head start on mastering the mechanics, everyone will start fresh when the game officially releases.
Fatal Fury City of the Wolves Open Beta Details
The Fatal Fury City of the Wolves open beta runs from February 20 9AM to February 24 8:59AM CET, giving players four full days to test out the game. The beta is available on all platforms, and accessing it is as simple as heading to your preferred platform’s store and downloading the beta client.
Gamers will get to choose from eight playable characters, allowing for plenty of experimentation with different fighting styles. This includes Vox Reaper, Mai Shiranui, Preecha, B Jenet, Hotaru, Rock, Terry, and Kain.
Of the lot, many gamers are excited for Kain R. Heinlein who is the boss of Garou: Mark Of The Wolves and B. Janet who is obviously a fan-favorite.
The open beta includes four game modes (Ranked Match, Casual Match, Room Match, and Tutorial) giving players the opportunity to experience competitive gameplay, casual fights, and a helpful training mode. It also features four stages to battle on: B. Port, Freight Express, Training, and Training Ground. With this much content, the whole weekend is sorted.
To help players prepare, SNK has released a System Guide trailer on YouTube, detailing the game’s mechanics and controls. If you’re new to the Fatal Fury franchise or just want a refresher, it’s definitely worth watching before jumping into the beta.
Fatal Fury City of the Wolves Special Edition is open for preorders on all platforms. If you do decide to jump in, you will receive a bonus Fatal Fury 2 Terry DLC costume and three-day early access, starting April 21, 2025.
