Far Cry 6 – First 17 Minutes of Gameplay & New Features
Ubisoft has released two videos showing the first 17 minutes of gameplay and six features that everyone should know about the new game.

Far Cry 6 takes place on the fictional Caribbean island of Yara, which is inspired by Cuba and is set to be the largest Far Cry map in the series.
Yara is currently under the rule of Anton Castillo, a ruthless dictator played by Breaking Bad actor Giancarlo Esposito.
You play as Dani Rojas, a freedom fighter who wants to free Yara from oppression and liberate it by any means.
At the beginning of the video released by IGN and Ubisoft, we see Castillo addressing the nation of Yara as he outlines his plan to rebuild the nation using the funds created from Viviro, a cancer miracle cure.
He also announces his intention to use true Yaran “volunteers” to help grow Viviro, although in truth, it’s a plan to enslave the nation and force the citizens into work for his own benefit.
Your first task when the game begins is to escape the soldiers that are forcibly taking draftees from their homes.
It’s in this sequence that we first get a glimpse of the game’s stealth mechanics, as you are forced into the shadows to avoid the soldiers.
During this opening, we also see just how beautiful the game looks, and in 4K, the nation of Yara and its inhabitants truly come to life.
Without completely spoiling the game’s opening, all I will say is that we get to see Castillo again, and his ruthless streak shines through as things take a brutal turn.
6 THINGS EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW
Far Cry 6 takes a few different steps to make it unique in the Far Cry series.
Firstly, your character will now feature in cutscenes, and you can see all your customization options during those same scenes, making it truly feel that you’re a part of the unfolding story.
On the subject of customization, gear is now very much essential, as each chest, leg, foot, and wrist piece offers unique buffs, perks, and abilities.
Weapons can now be bought or looted from caches. In addition, you can use what you find at workstations to craft modifications to improve your weapons.
If you think using your legs to get around is tedious work, you’re not alone. Fortunately, in Far Cry 6, you have plenty of vehicles, including cars, motorcycles, and a customizable sedan.
If it’s traveling in style you’re after, the game has you covered there, too, with the ability to acquire horses that you can ride on roads, mountains, and cliffs.
Enemies in Far Cry 6 will often leave you be, meaning you can move about your day without much interruption.
However, all that can change if you get too close to the soldiers or decide to provoke them by shooting at them first.
It does mean, though, that you no longer have to keep tediously fighting enemy after enemy to get from point A to point B.
