The Fallout London PC mod is free to download on GOG and Steam as of July 25. The mod is in an overhaul of Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic Fallout 4, with players now able to explore the English capital in an all-new experience for the series.
As mentioned, Fallout London is free to download, and there are a couple of ways to access the DLC-sized mod. You can do it via GOG, Steam, or an independent download.
First thing’s first. If you’re wanting to download Fallout London, you must first acquire Fallout 4 and all of it’s DLC content. Simply put, the easiest and possibly cheapest way to do it is to buy Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition (click on “Editions” drop-down menu and select “GOTY”). You can also scroll to the bottom of the article and find the best deals on Fallout 4 and the individual DLC on Allkeyshop.
Next, you must decide whether to download it on GOG or Steam. Downloading Fallout London on GOG is the easiest option. Developer Team FOLON and GOG have partnered, with GOG hosting the add-on and supporting it going forward. Installing it requires downloading GOG Galaxy, turning off your cloud saves, and clicking the GOG app install button.
For Steam users, downloading the Fallout London PC mod is a little more complicated. The easiest of the options for Steam is to download the FOLONDowngrader from Nexus Mods Using the downgrader you can rollback Fallout 4 to a previous version and install Fallout London with just a few clicks.
Advanced users may want to complete a manual installation. Be warned, though, you will need to follow the instructions, found here, very carefully. Manual installation requires to roll back to 1.10.163.0 version of Fallout 4: GOTY Edition and installing each part of Fallout 4 GOTY individually.
If you have Fallout 4 on GOG, it’s best to use the GOG installer, and on Steam, you’re better off using the FOLONDowngrader on Nexus Mods. Unfortunately, those on Epic Games will need to wait as the platform doesn’t currently support rollback, and Fallout London does not work with the recent Fallout 4 next-gen update released in April this year.
To play Fallout London, you must first own Fallout 4 and all of it’s DLC. You can either purchase Fallout 4: Game of the Year edition or buy each DLC individually. Compare prices and download Fallout London today as the post-apocalyptic RPG heads to England.
