The Zelda movie, a live-action film based on the iconic video game franchise, will reportedly kick off a trilogy, according to industry insider Daniel “DanielRPK” Richtman. Nintendo, along with Sony, is aiming to release the fantasy epic on March 26, 2027.
In a locked Patreon post, Richtman says all actors cast in major roles will be signed up for three films that Nintendo and Sony plan to release over six years, presumably from 2027, meaning the last will release in 2033.

What We Know About the Zelda Movie So Far
Nintendo and Sony are co-financing the film, with Sony in charge of distribution. Derek Connolly (Jurassic World) is writing the Zelda film, and Wes Ball (Maze Runner) is producing the movie, with Shigeru Miyamoto also producing.
So far, Nintendo hasn’t shared any details about the upcoming fantasy other than the March 26, 2027 release date. There’s hope for a full cast list ahead of filming, which begins in November 2025 and is expected to finish in April 2026.
