The Outlast Trials Season 2 promises new horrors and challenges after developer Red Barrels unveiled a new roadmap. Following a time-limited event later this week, Season 2 will come in 2025 and include a new map, enemy, and storylines.
The Outlast Trials developer Red Barrels has revealed the content coming to the multiplayer survival horror this year and early 2025. Following a recent “cyber incident,” Red Barrels promises new features and fresh content for The Outlast Trials.
With Season 2, the developer aims to elevate the tension, immersing players in even darker environments and more intense challenges. The Outlast Trials Season 2 comes in 2025 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Before Season 2, players are getting a new MK-Challenge and lobby mini game. The Outlast Trials Geister event will again be available later this week, following the success of last year’s Halloween event.
Moving into 2025, The Outlast Trials Season 2 will introduce the Winter Kills event, a new map, rig, enemy, storylines, and more. With very little content in recent months, the latest update from Red Barrels is welcome news, with the devs promising to work “hard to deliver fresh content for everyone to enjoy throughout the holidays!”

Red Barrels is ramping up the stakes for The Outlast Trials Season 2. Following Season 1, which released in July this year and introduced a new map and boss, players can expect Season 2 to be more terrifying content, including new intense challenges and chilling map.
The reaction from fans has been very positive on Reddit, with one saying “This is gonna be peak outlast trials” and another saying “This is absolutely amazing!” Everyone can join the horror, which begins this week with a new Geister event, on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
