The Division 2: New DLC “Battle for Brooklyn” Brings You Back to New York Starting May 27 2025
No new DLCs for The Division 2 over the past 5 years. But that’s about to change. Later this year, in Season 7, a new DLC called “Battle for Brooklyn” is set to release. This DLC takes you back to where it all began.
Back to Brooklyn – A New Chapter Begins
The Division 2 originally launched in 2019, and the last expansion for the game was the “Warlords of New York” DLC in March 2020. While the game has received new content every year through its seasons, this year the developers want to bring even more players back. That’s why this season will also introduce a new DLC, “Battle of Brooklyn.”
Battle of Brooklyn brings you back to New York, the starting point of the story. You’ll explore the neighborhoods of Brooklyn Heights and Dumbo once again. You’ll see locations from The Division as well as completely new areas. This DLC was originally planned for release last year but was delayed indefinitely. Now, however, we finally have a release date.
The Division 2 DLC Launching on May 27
Battle of Brooklyn will release alongside the new season on May 27, 2025. As mentioned above, you’ll travel to Brooklyn Heights and Dumbo in the DLC. These areas have been taken over by the Cleaners and Rikers. You can expect a linear storyline that you can play solo or co-op with up to 4 players. The goal of the DLC is to uncover the mystery of the “Purple Flame.”
The DLC will bring plenty of new missions, but that’s not all. You’ll also gain new abilities, including Smart Cover, which we know from The Division. This ability strengthens your cover, providing both offensive and defensive buffs. In addition, the Catalyst Exotic Mask will be available as an exclusive item, boosting status effect damage and reducing vulnerability to status effects.
