Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars is the remaster of the great JRPG classic from Konami. With a chapter arriving in the 30th Anniversary year of the first game, released in 1995. Offering a remastered and enhanced version of the Suikoden I&II compilation originally released on PSP.

With the return of the beloved series more than 20 years after the last mainline chapter. The remaster was initially announced at the Tokyo Game Show 2022, with a release in 2023. But after an unspecified delay, the final confirmation for the release is March 6, 2025, at the end of August 2024.

Suikoden I&II HD Remaster: The Classic JRPG is Now Available!

Today marks the launch date of Suikoden I&II HD Remaster. The remaster of the first two chapters of Konami’s classic JRPG series. Available with a collection starting today, March 6, 2025, on Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

An awaited launch with a live stream dedicated to the series on March 3, where Konami showed us the gameplay, soundtrack, and a new announcement. Followed by the March 5 launch trailer showcasing the full features of Suikoden, from characters to gameplay and the style of the remaster. Not to mention the targeted additions to enhance the experience.



Suikoden I&II HD Remaster: Story and Gameplay

The series is partly based on the classic Chinese literary novel known as “Water Margin.” The first chapter takes us to the Scarlet Moon Empire, where in the role of the son of a young general, we must recruit 108 warriors. All to start a rebellion and bring peace to the kingdom.

While the second chapter takes place three years later in the city-state of Jowston, where the protagonist and his friend become involved in a mysterious conspiracy. All accompanied by a classic turn-based JRPG gameplay. Moving through an overworld map across the kingdom, with random encounters and part of the story.


Suikoden I&II HD: What’s New in the Remaster?

Suikoden I&II HD brings a modernized graphic style along with new features. In particular, we have:

  • Graphic Remaster and New Artwork: A remaster of the graphic style with modern pixel art. Along with new backgrounds and modern visual effects. Also, new portraits and artwork from artist Junko Kawano, who worked on the originals.
  • Improved Audio Experience: Combat audio deeply enhanced. Plus the addition of new environmental sounds for a more immersive experience.
  • New Features: New additions aimed at improving the experience, such as the Dialogue Log, Auto-Save, Auto-Battle, and Double Combat Speed.

Additionally, those who pre-ordered the title before March 6 will receive the pre-order bonus. This offers a small initial bonus of 57300 potch, Fortune Orb x1, and Prosperity Orb x1.
