The time for nominating the Steam Awards 2024 is almost up. This is your last chance to nominate your favorite game or the one you think fits best. You can also earn the Nomination Committee Badge for participating.

Steam Awards 2024 Nominations

The best games of this year will be honored again at the Steam Awards 2024. There are a total of 11 different categories in which games can compete. But we’re not quite there yet with the Steam Awards. Right now, it’s still the nominations phase, meaning there are no fixed nominees yet, and you can propose your own. Only in this way can games even participate in the Steam Awards 2024. You have exactly 24 hours left to vote, so do it now!

The 11 categories include, of course, the Game of the Year 2024. You can propose any game, but Steam also highlights popular games that have been suggested. Naturally, the number of votes matters here, and not every nominated game will make it to the Steam Awards. Suggested games include Black Myth: Wukong, Final Fantasy XVI, Red Dead Redemption, Metaphor: Re Fantazio, Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2, Stalker 2, Silent Hill 2, Satisfactory, and many more. The next category is the VR Game of the Year 2024. The idea here is simple: nominate the best game released this year that is played with a VR headset.

Then comes the Labor of Love Award. This is for games that have been around for a while but continue to receive updates from their developers, filled with new content, showing that the developers truly love the game.

Next, we have the Best Game on the Steam Deck Award. This award is for the game that plays best on Steam’s handheld console, the Steam Deck. These are often relaxing single-player games.

Another category is the Better with Friends Award. This award is for multiplayer and co-op games that are especially fun with friends. Sometimes you can’t even play the game alone, and sometimes, while you can, it’s just much more fun together.

Now we come to the Outstanding Visual Style Award. This is for games that stand out graphically, either because they try something completely new or just look extremely good. The rest doesn’t matter here, it’s all about the visuals.

Then there’s the Most Innovative Gameplay Award. This award is for games that have tried to integrate something completely new into their gameplay, whether it’s a new type of puzzle or something entirely unique.

The Best Game You Suck At Award goes to a game where you’ve probably died more than once. Think of games like the Souls series or other challenging titles released this year. These games require persistence, and you might develop a love-hate relationship with them.

The next category is the Best Soundtrack Award. This one isn’t about the game itself but honors the composer who created the music for the game. It’s about epic and emotional music that, when used properly, can significantly enhance the game experience.

Next, there’s the Outstanding Story-Rich Game Award. These are rarely action games; instead, they focus on storytelling and deliver an emotional or thrilling story, sometimes even better than a movie.

Finally, we have the Sit Back and Relax Award. These are stress-free games that you can play without pressure—perfect for unwinding after a long day. Many of these games are also suitable for the Steam Deck, allowing you to play them lying in bed.

Steam Awards 2024 Nomination Committee Badge

As mentioned earlier, you can also earn a Steam Badge by nominating games. This badge has four different levels and can be displayed on your Steam profile. You earn 25XP per level.

The tasks are pretty simple. For the first task, you need to nominate one game. For the second task, you need to nominate a game in each category. You can also skip a category if, for example, you don’t have a VR headset. The third task is to play one of the games you nominated (a few seconds is enough). And the last task is to write a review for one of the games you nominated (updating an existing review is also sufficient).
