Quantic River is a 2.5D action game being developed by the small French team at FluidFury Interactive. The game was first announced in November 2023 with an initial trailer. A trailer that brings us right into the cyberpunk future of United City.
It promises fast-paced action and exploration. Definitely gives off GhostRunner vibes, but with a neon twist in 2.5D. Built with UE5 and potentially launching on Steam and Epic Games Store. The FluidFury Interactive team is back after over a year with updates on Quantic River — their futuristic 2.5D cyberpunk hack & slash. First revealed on 28 November 2023, the game takes us into the future of United City.
With the new “Zenmetsu” trailer, we finally get a look at the game in action. A fast-paced, stylized, and brutal hack & slash. Mixing 2.5D style with impactful low-frame animations and a super detailed neon setting.
Quantic River: Features and Latest News
An early Alpha showcase of the game, built on Unreal Engine 5. With music by Brett Janzen. The game includes:
- Katana Action: Katana-based gameplay where you can parry and counter. Smooth chained attacks and combat to test your reflexes and skill.
- Cybernetic Upgrades: Tons of upgrades focused on combat, hacking, and mobility.
- United City: A futuristic neon-lit city you’ll explore during your journey. Full of details and secrets. Use hacking to interact, observe, and manipulate the environment. Plus high destructibility and tactical options in fights.
The team confirmed the game will soon launch a Kickstarter campaign, as announced at the end of 2023. That’ll help fund development and bring out more info about the title.
