Escape The Mad Empire (ETME) is a roguelike dungeon crawler from the team at XperimentalZ Games. A Canadian team making their debut with their first major project. It takes us to a fantasy world where the empire has fallen into chaos.

Escape The Mad Empire: Available Today

With over 7 years of development and the demo release in early 2024, today marks the official launch of Escape The Mad Empire. The release date is April 22, 2025, available on Steam as an Early Access title.

Escape The Mad Empire – Gameplay and Key Features

ETME presents itself as a CRPG adventure that combines the charm of classic games with retro-style gameplay. Offering:

• Escape the Mad Empire: Lead an unlikely group of heroes and guide them safely out of the Mad Empire’s territory. All in a roguelike dungeon crawler with a strong strategic component.
• Assemble Your Heroes: With 13 classes, each with unique abilities. Combine them with over a hundred bizarre or cursed items. You can recruit and train heroes at your base.
• Instant Strategy: To continue your escape, you need to organize your party and resources. Use tactical pause to unleash skills, spells, and use items to change the course of battle.

With an Early Access launch marking the first step for the team. They celebrate the launch with the Lore Trailer, which tells the story of the Empire’s power-hungry corruption caused by the Crystals. This led to its downfall, and the survivors are now searching for a way to escape the Mad Empire.
