New leaks have surfaced for this year’s Madden NFL game, revealing key launch info and teasing what fans can expect across platforms.

The season of leaks is far from over and this time it’s EA Sports annual football simulation game that’s in the spotlight. Madden NFL 26 has been the subject of much speculation, as fans anticipate when they’ll get to hit the virtual gridiron once again.

Given its yearly schedule, the Madden franchise typically releases just ahead of the NFL season kickoff which gives us a window for the launch. But we may not have to wait for the announcement as a trusted insider may have nailed down the exact date.

According to the report, EA will officially announce the game this week, no later than April 25, 2025. The full release is set for August 14, 2025, which lines up perfectly with Madden’s usual annual launch window.

There will be two editions available at launch: a Standard Edition and a Deluxe Edition. As expected, the Deluxe Edition will offer three days of early access, meaning players who opt for it can start playing on August 11th.

In keeping with EA’s strategy for major sports titles too, Madden NFL 26 will also be included in Game Pass Ultimate via EA Play. However, this doesn’t mean subscribers get full access right away. Instead, players will have access to a 10-hour trial beginning August 11th, the same day Deluxe Edition owners get early access.

When it comes to platforms, it will certainly be launching on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The question is whether PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will still be supported, given that more recent releases are opting those ones out. More intriguingly, speculations of whether Madden NFL 26 will mark the franchise’s debut on Nintendo’s upcoming Switch 2.

It’s already confirmed that both EA Sports FC and Madden will make their way to the new Nintendo console but what’s still unclear is if that begins with the upcoming 2026 editions or if EA intends to test the waters by launching last year’s versions first.
